Junior Drama & Dance

sit and talk with confidence about their week. The class also includes rhymes,
songs, and fairytales, let’s pretend and games exclusively for their age group. This is followed by a more focused acting exercise and voice techniques building towards a performance. They are still of course involved in our productions but the class will focus
more on the activities they love instead of lots of rehearsals. This may be a performance we are working
towards for an end of term show / public performance or a performance that
builds into it all the acting & improvisation techniques we have been using
within the lesson's theme. Themes are Cowboys and Cowgirls, Prince and Princesses, Doctors and Nurses, Witches and Wizards and many more.

DramaCo Youth Theatre
This class is for our older students 8 years plus (or those whose albility is 8 years up) who
often take the leads in our productions. As such the session runs as a young
person’s theatre company. We focus on acting, performance skills, singing,
dance and look at the mediums of theatre, television and film. Each class
starts with warm ups, strengthening the voice, followed by movement based
activities. The class then expands into improvisation & acting exercises.
The last half of the class focuses on performance. This may be a performance we
are working towards for an end of term show / public performance or a
performance that builds into it all the acting & improvisation techniques
we have been using within the lesson's theme. Please see our Performance list on our home page for past productions that were cast entirely from this class and Senior Drama such as A Midsummer Night's Dream, a Film & TV Premiere, Lymington Arts Festival and many more. Contact us for a

LAMDA
Junior LAMDA
We
have introduced these class specifically for younger members of
DramaCo. We have a group voice
and speech session with posture work. Students then spend time practicing
script work on a duologue, play, monologue or LAMDA text. Their chosen scripts
are then worked on with the tutor on a 1 to 1 basis and then we critique
supportively as a group once they have built confidence. Members will then
be entered into an externally assessed LAMDA examination. Classes are Tuesdays after school or Saturday lunchtimes at the Community Centre. Click HERE for further information.
Speech & Drama Workshop followed by optional LAMDA
This is for older students who have a
real interest in acting and is an hour workshop followed by an hour LAMDA class for those who wish to do both. The Speech and Drama session
includes a drama workshop with voice and speech techniques and posture
work. We then work with scripts or devised drama building towards an end of term show. In the LAMDA class that follows students then spend time practicing script work on a duologue, devised play, musical theatre song or
monologue for a LAMDA examination. Their chosen scripts are then worked on with
the tutor on a 1 to 1 basis and as a group where acting is critiqued in a
constructive and very supportive environment. Click HERE for further information.
